2012 Successes
We were well-represented at the NWSBA Finals Day at West End Bowls Club. We were runners-up in the Monday Evening League and in the Ladies Triples. However, our biggest success was Robin Hewlett's win in the Mens Open Singles. He beat John Garland from Ember, having been 13-20 down at one stage.
Robin, also partnered Trevor Hoy, in the SCBA Mens Pairs. They reached the Area 2 final, only to be beaten by a very strong pair from Webridge.
Ian Fey, in his 2nd year of bowling, reached seven club finals, causing a headache for the Competitions Secretary ! He won four of these finals, including the Mens Championship.
The Ladies reached the final of the Sapphire League for the 2nd year in succession.
The Men were 2nd in Division 1 of the NWSBA Single Rink League. They finished equal on points with West End but had a net 3 shot inferior shot difference.2013 Opening
The Opening Day is on Saturday 20th April 2013. There will be a Garden Plant and Bowls Equipment Sale, starting at 10am. Please support the club by bringing any spare plants to sell or come to buy plants or any bowls equipment that you might need. The Treasurer will be present to collect your 2013 subscriptions. There will be a Fish and Chip supper in the evening. Further details will be included in the e-mail or letter that you will receive from the Secretary.
